As we age our skin begins to lose its elasticity and firmness, which can lead to a number of unwanted aesthetic issues. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. Two treatments are recommended four weeks apart, with a follow-up appointment at week eight, to be repeated twice a year for optimal Profhilo® results.
Before carrying out treatment, our clinicians see each and every patient for a thorough assessment and consultation. No two people are the same and no two cases are the same, therefore, you will receive a bespoke treatment plan based on your particular concerns, medical history or skin condition. This not only ensures your safety is upheld at all times, it also means that you’ll gain optimum results from treatment.
Your consultation is free but subject to a £50 attendance deposit that can be redeemed against any treatment delivered during your visit.
You are then invited back for a free post-treatment review session 8 weeks later.
After the treatment, which can be a couple of days, there might be some minor swelling. It’s best to time having this procedure done around a week before any special event or occasion. Straight after treatment, applying ice to the area can reduce swelling and help to stop any bruising. Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise for 24 hours as it can result in additional bruising.
We will go through detailed aftercare advice to maximise the treatment benefits and avoid any undesirable side effects after your treatment.

Profhilo® is the first BDDE-free (no cross-linking / viscosity building), stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable substance which helps to treat skin laxity.
Profhilo® offers one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. HA is responsible for hydrated and youthful skin and is drastically depleted from the skin over time. The HA in Profhilo® will boost and hydrate the skin as well as remodel the ageing and sagging tissue which occurs during the natural ageing process.
Profhilo® is not a dermal filler or bio-revitaliser, it is a bio-remodelling product, which is a new category in injectable moisturiser. Profhilo® forms 2 types of HA, HA and LHA. This combination of powerful HA components produces a longer-lasting product as well as intensive skin laxity remodelling.
Profhilo® works in a course of 2 or 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. On the face, only 5 injection points are necessary on each side of the face to give maximum results.
Profhilo® acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. It is injected just under the surface of the skin, where it disperses quickly (due to the lack of BDDE cross-linking agent) and reacts with your own tissues to instantly boost hydration. Over the following 4 weeks, phase 2 will boost collagen and elastin production within the dermis. This helps to give the skin a youthful, plump, smooth and firm appearance.
Profhilo® can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other dermal fillers, laser treatments or Botox as part of a holistic approach to skin remodelling and revitalisation.
We use Profhilo® to create an airbrushed skin effect on patients of all ages. It is especially popular with patients over the age of 30.

What is Profhilo like to have done? As Profhilo is injected just under the skin using very fine needles in pre-determined points, it is relatively painless; you may feel a short sting or scratch, but this is short-lived. Patients can opt for topical pain relief or anaesthetic before a Profhilo® treatment, but it is usually not needed.
The procedure is very quick, taking only about 10 minutes.
There is no downtime with Profhilo®. However, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can also increase the likelihood of bruising, but it is fine to use 48 hours after.
Immediately afterwards, it’s important to avoid wearing make-up and strenuous exercise such as going to the gym, swimming or extreme sports and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.
You will need to avoid excessive sunlight for 48 hours after Profhilo® and wear a high-SPF sunscreen.
It’s important to know that if you expose your skin to the sun, this will only have a detrimental effect on your skin quality and hydration. Investing in good habits such as wearing SPF and a wide-brimmed hat when going into extreme sunlight, as well as having regular treatments such as Profhilo® will help your skin hugely, in the long-run.
There are no long-term side effects with Profhilo® as it is metabolised by the body completely. The risk of any allergic reaction is substantially reduced due to the lack of any synthetic chemicals such as BDDE.
Some people can experience some redness, slight bruising, tenderness and possible itching at the injection sites, but these will subside in a few hours to a day and is totally natural
Results from Profhilo® can last anything from 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual reaction and metabolism of the product.
